How Stillness Speaks: Finding Clarity in Quiet Moments

Stillness is one of the most important things I practice each day.
Not because I have mastered it,
but because I know how much I need it.
Most mornings or evenings,
you will find me barefoot on the earth,
standing quietly under the open sky or gazing at the stars.
This is where I reflect on my life.
This is where I think through the situations on my heart,
where I ask myself if I am handling them well,
and whether I need to adjust my approach.
Sometimes I am there for thirty or sixty minutes,
and other times it is just five or ten.
It does not matter.
What matters is the intention.
You have to live with intention,
and intention requires connection to oneself.
There are many days when stillness brings me clarity.
Whether I am grounded on the earth,
or simply sitting on the edge of my bed,
eyes closed,
focusing on my breath,
the answers are not always loud or immediate, but they come.
I believe many people are afraid of stillness
because they are unsure of what they will find in the quiet.
The moment they slow down,
the regrets begin to whisper,
the past mistakes rise to the surface,
and the pain they have been carrying
finally has room to be felt.
Instead of sitting with it,
they often reach for anything that promises escape,
even if only for a moment.
They search for identity, distraction, or validation
to pull them away from what hurts inside.
But the truth is,
you cannot outrun what lives within you.
You can only heal it
by turning toward it,
with gentleness and courage.
If you are just beginning to explore stillness,
start small.
Set tiny, intentional habits.
Find time where it is just you,
alone, with no distractions.
Even if you need to step into the bathroom
just to have a few moments to yourself.
Close your eyes.
Breathe.
Let yourself be fully present.
Focus on positive, life-giving thoughts.
Remind yourself that you have the power
to shape your reality through small daily actions.
You do not need hours of silence to change your life.
You just need moments
where you come home to yourself.
