Midweek Mirror: Hindsight Is 20/20

You do not have to understand why everything happened to you right now. This Midweek Mirror explores how hindsight brings clarity, how to transmute emotions that never made sense, and how to keep moving while you trust that your life will one day make sense.

Midweek Mirror: Hindsight Is 20/20
Glance back with grace. Then put your eyes on the road.
Whisper: The rearview mirror is small for a reason. Your future is in the windshield.

Good morning, beautiful soul.

Yesterday we talked about building the house they can come home to. We watched Joseph store grain in a season he never asked for, far from the people he loved.

But here is a part of Joseph's story we skipped. While he was in it, none of it made sense.

He did not wake up in the pit thinking, this is all part of the plan. He did not sit in a prison cell for a crime he never committed and feel grateful. He was confused. He was hurting. He had questions no one could answer.

Maybe you know that feeling. Maybe there are chapters of your life that still do not make sense. Losses that came out of nowhere. People who turned on you without warning. Seasons where you did everything right and still watched it fall apart.

Today's mirror is a gentle one. You do not have to understand it all yet.

Hindsight Is Always 20/20

There is a reason we say hindsight is 20/20. The view is always clearer looking back.

While you are walking through something, you only see the step in front of you. You see the pain, the confusion, the closed door. What you cannot see yet is where the road is going, who you are becoming, or what the hard season is protecting you from.

Years later, Joseph stood in front of his brothers and finally said it out loud.

"It was not you who sent me here, but God." (Genesis 45:8)

He could only say that from the other side. In the pit, it looked like betrayal. From the palace, it looked like provision.

Your story may be the same. What looks like loss right now may one day look like rescue.

A Mirror Dimly

Scripture gives us a beautiful picture of this.

"For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." (1 Corinthians 13:12)

In Paul's day, mirrors were polished metal. The reflection was blurry and dim. You could make out a shape, but never the full picture.

That is what it feels like to look at your life in the middle of a hard season. You see part of it. Not all of it. And that is okay. God is not asking you to see the whole picture. He is asking you to trust the One who does.

Jesus said it plainly to Peter on the night He washed the disciples' feet.

"You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." (John 13:7)

Later. Not now. But later.

Transmuting What Did Not Make Sense

Here is where alignment begins to unlock.

When something happens that we cannot explain, our minds want to solve it. We replay it. We go over every detail, trying to find the reason. And when we cannot find one, that unresolved emotion gets stuck. It sits in the body as confusion, anger, or grief that never quite settles.

Transmuting it does not mean forcing an answer. It means releasing the need for one.

You can say: I do not understand why this happened. I may not understand for a long time. But I am not going to let what I do not understand stop me from moving forward.

That is not giving up on the truth. It is trusting that the truth will show up in its time.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

When you stop demanding an explanation from the past, you get your energy back for the present. And that is where alignment lives.

Keep It Moving

Think about the mirrors in your car. The rearview mirror is small. The windshield is huge. That is not an accident.

You need to glance back sometimes. It helps you see where you have been and what is behind you. But if you stare into the rearview mirror, you will crash into what is in front of you.

Beautiful soul, glance back with grace. Then put your eyes on the road.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Lean not on your own understanding. You were never meant to carry the full explanation. You were only meant to keep walking.

Your Midweek Mirror Practice

Take five quiet minutes today and try this:

  1. Name the unanswered question. Write down one thing from your past that still does not make sense to you.
  2. Release the demand. Say out loud: "I do not need to understand this today. I trust that one day I will."
  3. Look through the windshield. Write down one step you can take forward this week, no matter what the past has not explained.

Note from Eugenia

Beautiful soul, one day you are going to look back on this exact season and see it clearly. You will see the protection you could not see then. You will see the doors that closed so better ones could open. You will see how every piece fit, even the ones that cut.

Until then, you do not have to have the answers. You only have to keep moving. Your life is going to make sense. Trust that, and keep it moving.

Hindsight is 20/20. Keep your eyes on the windshield.

Frequency Feature: "Ordinary" by Alex Warren

Some love was written in the stars long before two people ever met.

You can feel it the moment it arrives. It does not need to be explained, chased, or proven. It is soul recognizing soul, two frequencies that were made to find each other. It is the kind of love that takes an ordinary Wednesday and turns it into something holy.

And here is the truth about love like that. It is protected.

No man can manipulate it. No lie can rewrite it. No distance, no season, and no amount of interference can destroy what Heaven itself has written. People may try to come between it. Circumstances may test it. But love that God authored is held in hands far bigger than ours.

"Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away." (Song of Songs 8:7)

That is why today's Frequency Feature is "Ordinary" by Alex Warren. He wrote it about his wife, Kouvr. They met at eighteen, when he had nothing and was living out of his car. She moved from Hawaii and slept in that car with him, choosing love when there was nothing ordinary about their circumstances. Released in February 2025, the song went to number one around the world.

It is the perfect song for a Midweek Mirror about hindsight. Some love only makes full sense looking back, when you see how every hard road was quietly leading you to each other.

Beautiful soul, if you have known a love like that, or you are still waiting for it, trust this: what is written in the stars cannot be erased by human hands.

"Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." (Matthew 19:6)
