Monday Morning Grace: Presence Over Hustle - The Open Door of Grace

An unexpected open door reframed my week: grace over hustle, presence over fear. Start Monday with a 60-second hand-on-heart reset and let God lead.

Monday Morning Grace: Presence Over Hustle - The Open Door of Grace
Monday Morning Grace - an ordinary door left slightly ajar as morning light pours in; a quiet reminder that when we stop striving, God opens what we could not.

Whisper in One Breath

“Slow your breath, place a hand on your heart, and let numbness soften into knowing.”

Beautiful souls,

Monday often rushes at us - demanding speed, performance, and proof. Today, let’s anchor to a different frequency: Grace. Grace meets us when we stop striving and choose to be held. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV) If you’re overwhelmed at the starting line, you might also enjoy The Frequency of Faith - Let Go and Let God, where surrender makes room for presence. “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15)

The Closed Door and the Fear You Carry

Early Sunday morning, I wrapped a deep, intentional stretch of work - the very words you’re reading now - and prepared for rest. My closing ritual: wash my feet, exhale, release the day. The shower was running in the master guest suite. I ran upstairs at 6:49 AM to check one final detail. When I came back down and stepped into the bathroom, I saw it:

Bathroom exterior door with white blinds stands ajar, revealing the pool deck as morning light seeps in - an unexpected open door discovered at 6:49 a.m.
The Open Door of Grace - the poolside door I’d never used, found wide open at 6:49 a.m.; a quiet reminder that when I stop striving, God opens what I cannot.

The door to the outside pool deck was standing open.

It’s a door I haven't used since 2011, when I helped move. Without knowing it, that closed door had come to symbolize boundaries, walls, and fears I was still carrying. And there it was - open. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6) Sometimes grace looks like a path you didn’t plan - and an open door you didn’t expect. “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.” (Psalm 37:23)

The Overwhelming Presence: Finding Jesus in the Mundane

You’d think fear would be the first response to an unexpected open door that leads outside. It wasn’t. What filled the room was love - calm, steady, and unmistakable bliss. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you… Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27) In my spirit, I could hear the Scripture I’ve long held close: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.” (Revelation 3:20)

That open door wasn’t an accident. It arrived precisely as I was choosing stillness over hustle and care over exhaustion. When we stop trying to control every outcome, God opens doors we didn’t even know existed. The grace was in the simplicity: the Divine met me in a mundane ritual at a friend's home. “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.” (Psalm 16:11) The sacred isn’t reserved for church; it lives in our ordinary. If you want to explore this more, read Follow Me in the Ordinary.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Monday Morning Grace: An Invitation to Receive

This week, stop striving. Start receiving. Your stillness is a superpower. Your identity isn’t defined by output, and your peace isn’t won by overdrive. Look for the open door. Look for the unexpected stillness. God is near. “Fear not, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.” (Isaiah 41:10) “Do not be anxious about anything… and the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord… ‘plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11). If you want a companion practice midweek, reflect with Midweek Mirror - Returning to Stillness. “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

A 60-Second Grace Reset (Hand-on-Heart)

  • Step away from people and your phone.
  • Hand on heart, eyes closed. “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” (Psalm 37:7)
  • Breathe slowly: in through the nose, out through the mouth. “The breath of the Almighty gives me life.” (Job 33:4)
  • Notice your senses (no judgment): air on skin, feet grounded, rise/fall of your chest.
  • Remember: My soul is the program; my body is the vehicle. “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice… be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:1-2)
  • Name one word for the next hour (gentle, steady, present, faithful). “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:15)
  • Offer yourself grace. The pause itself is prayer. When words fail, “the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” (Romans 8:26)

Practice this once in the morning and again before a decision. Over time, your micro-decisions calm - and your awareness of God’s nearness grows. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

Blessing + Weekly Prompt

A Blessing for Your Week
May numbness loosen as you return to your breath. May the Spirit meet your silence and carry what you cannot say. May one honest minute open a door to steady decisions and soft strength. May you remember: you are held, guided, and never out of His reach. “Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.” (Psalm 23:6)

This Week’s Soul Prompt
What door will God open for you this week? When you notice it, jot two words: what I felt and what I need. That’s your soul sharpening in real time. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7)

Your Journey Starts Here

Many have asked during my TikTok Lives how to begin their personal or spiritual journey. So far, I've explored and mapped the first three stages for those seeking alignment - the awakening, the journey inward, and the path forward. These stages have brought profound clarity, and I'm grateful to share what I've discovered along the way.

There are still a few details unfolding, but trust that everything is aligning in its own time - and you'll be the first to know when it's ready.

Remember, this is love being transmuted into art; growth takes time, and you can't rush an actual journey, beautiful souls. In due time, all the right energy falls into place. Have faith - this was written in the stars before we got here. 🚀

Dominique Hammons’ “This Woman’s Work” carries the tenderness this post invites - unhurried, spacious, and reverent. The violin’s pauses create breathing room for your Hand-on-Heart minute, a soundtrack for releasing hustle and receiving grace. With no lyrics to crowd the moment, your own prayer can rise -echoing Romans 8:26, where words fail, the Spirit intercedes.
