Monday Morning Grace: Transmute It, Don't Bury It
Burying your emotions does not make them disappear. It makes them wait. This Monday Morning Grace explores how to transmute your feelings into wisdom and direction, find alignment, and rise into your highest timeline with a simple three-step practice.
Whisper: What you bury, you carry. What you transmute, you rise from.
Good morning, Beautiful Soul.
Maybe you woke up today still carrying last week. The conversation that did not go the way you hoped. The silence that said more than words ever could. The heaviness that followed you to bed and was somehow waiting for you when you opened your eyes.
Before your feet even touch the floor, I want you to hear this: grace got here first. You do not have to have it all figured out this morning. You only have to be willing to let what you are feeling become something new.
What Transmuting Really Means
When people hear the word transmute, they sometimes think it means pretending the hard feelings are not there. Smile through it. Stay positive. Push it down and keep moving.
That is not transmuting. That is burying.
And here is the thing about burying an emotion: it does not die. It waits. It shows up in your sleep, in your body, in the way you snap at someone you love, in the way you shut down when you need to speak up.
Transmuting is different. It means letting the feeling move all the way through you, then asking it what it came to teach. It is the slow, sacred work of turning pain into wisdom and weight into direction.
I know this work personally. For years I carried pain I simply could not wrap my head around. It was only when I stopped running from it, and started sitting with it, that it began to change shape in my hands. The pain did not disappear overnight. But it stopped being a prison and started becoming a path.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." (Romans 12:2)
The Message Inside Each Emotion
Every emotion carries energy, and every emotion carries a message. When you learn to listen, your feelings stop being enemies and start becoming teachers.
Anger shows you a boundary. It rises when something you value has been crossed. You do not have to act on it in harmful ways, but you do need to hear it. "In your anger do not sin." (Ephesians 4:26) Feeling it is allowed. Letting it rule you is the trap.
Grief shows you love. You only grieve what mattered. Your tears are proof that your heart is still working.
Fear shows you what you want to protect. Underneath every fear is something precious. Name it, and you will find your courage hiding right behind it.
Envy shows you a desire. When someone else's life stirs something in you, it may be pointing to a dream you have not given yourself permission to chase.
Shame shows you a lie. Somewhere along the way, someone taught you that you were not enough. Shame is the echo of that lie, and it is not the truth about who you are.
Alignment and Your Highest Timeline
Here is what I have come to believe: every time you transmute instead of react, you choose a different future.
Reacting keeps you on the same loop, repeating the same patterns, attracting the same storms. Transmuting lifts you off that loop. It is a quiet decision to Rise into the version of you that God already sees.
That is what I mean by your highest timeline. It is not a perfect life. It is an aligned one. Alignment is simply when what you feel on the inside and how you live on the outside finally line up again. It is when your choices match your calling.
You will not get there by avoiding your emotions. You will get there by walking through them, one honest feeling at a time. And the beautiful part is that you do not walk alone. Grace walks every step with you.
Your Monday Morning Practice
Before the week picks up speed, give yourself five quiet minutes with this simple practice:
- Feel it. Name the emotion you are carrying right now. Say it out loud or write it down. "I feel hurt." "I feel afraid." "I feel tired."
- Hear it. Ask the emotion what it is trying to tell you. What boundary, love, desire, or truth is underneath it?
- Turn it. Choose one aligned action for today based on what you heard. Send the honest message. Rest without guilt. Say no. Take the next faithful step.
That is it. Feel it, hear it, turn it. Small steps, repeated with grace, will carry you further than you can imagine.
Note from Eugenia
Whatever you are carrying into this week, you do not have to carry it the same way you did last week. Your emotions are not proof that you are broken. They are raw material in the hands of a God who specializes in making all things new. Let Him turn what was meant to bury you into something that blooms.
"To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." (Isaiah 61:3)

Frequency Feature: "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler
Sometimes the most honest thing you can do with an emotion is let it be big.
That is why today's Frequency Feature is "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler. Released in 1983 and written and produced by Jim Steinman, it became one of the best-selling singles of all time and spent four weeks at number one in the United States.
What makes this song perfect for today is how unashamed it is. Bonnie Tyler does not whisper her way through heartbreak. She lets every ounce of longing, loneliness, and love pour out of her. Steinman himself once described the song as "an exorcism you can dance to," and that is exactly what transmutation feels like. You do not bury the feeling. You let it rise, you let it move through you, and somehow you come out lighter on the other side.
And then there is that famous refrain: "Turn around, bright eyes."
Let that be your invitation this Monday morning. Turn around and face what you have been avoiding. Look your emotions in the eye. Feel them fully. Then let grace turn them into something new.
Even a total eclipse does not last forever. The light always comes back.
