Soul Food for the Week: Carrying Honesty and Presence Forward
Honesty is the soil where presence takes root. When you slow down and live from truth, your soul finds nourishment, your spirit anchors in love, and your week unfolds with peace.
Yesterday's Sacred Saturday reminded us of the gentle power of presence and radical honesty. Today, as we step into a new week, the invitation is not to leave those lessons behind but to carry them forward as nourishment for the soul.
The Weight of False Responsibility
For much of my life, I carried responsibility like a badge of honor. The more weight I piled on, the more I believed I was pushing life forward. But beneath the surface, I wasn't being honest with myself or with those around me.
What I've learned, and what I want you to know, is this: the more honest you are, the more incredible your life becomes.
When you begin living from love and truth, the outcome doesn't matter anymore. It becomes the journey you savor, the peace you carry, and the presence you hold.
"Be still, and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10
"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him." - Psalm 34:8
Honesty as a Gateway to Presence
Honesty became my doorway into presence. By stepping into it fully, I was able to shed the expectations of society and release the weight of living for others. My soul already knew what it wanted. All I needed was to follow it and trust it.
When you do that:
- The right people align
- The right opportunities open
- Your inner world transforms your outer world
My Daily Anchoring Practices
These days, I anchor my choices to my core values:
- Setting boundaries that honor my energy
- Daily journaling - both here with you and privately on paper
- Grounding my body to the earth to remember that I am loved and held
- Soul-led decisions rather than impulse or boredom-driven choices

From Shame to Gratitude: Reframing My Story
Even my 14-year battle with addiction is no longer a source of shame. I reframe it with gratitude: I am alive. I am free. And I can share my story in hopes it inspires others to stop living for external validation and return to their true selves.

Soul Food for Your Table This Week
Here's the truth I want to place on your table: there has never been a time in my life when honesty wasn't the right answer.
The moments I chose dishonesty became lessons that drew me back to truth. Honesty will stretch you - it may reveal the good, the bad, and the ugly, but it will always reveal the beautiful.

Closing Whisper
Beautiful souls, remember this: honesty is the soil where presence takes root. When you stop hiding from yourself, you begin to hear the whisper of God more clearly. This week, may you slow down enough to feel the steady hum of love beneath all the noise. Let it remind you that you are not behind, you are not too much, and you are never alone.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”
Ephesians 5:8
With love and truth,
