The Midweek Mirror: Trusting God in the Dark

When no one will tell you the truth and you feel in the dark about your own life, this Midweek Mirror invites you to pause, practice self-compassion, study the fruit, and trust the God who still lights your path.

The Midweek Mirror: Trusting God in the Dark
Standing on a dim path, looking toward a pool of light, symbolizing trusting God step by step when life feels dark and unclear.

“Even when they keep you in the dark, I am still your light, and I know the whole story.”

There is a special kind of exhaustion that comes from not knowing what is really going on in your own life.
When questions are met with silence, when your honest “What is happening?” is dodged or ignored, it can feel like you are walking through a story everyone else has read except you.
This Midweek Mirror is a pause to name that ache, to practice self‑compassion in the confusion, and to remember that the God of many names has not left you in the dark.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
[Psalm 119:105]

Living in the Dark, Reaching for Light

There is so much that is still unknown.
I can sense that things have been hidden, conversations have happened without me, and decisions that affect my life have been made behind closed doors.
I have asked for clarity and help, only to be turned away, dismissed, or ignored.

Yet even while I feel very much in the dark, my heart posture has remained the same:
I am simply trying to love, to help people see their own light, and to live in a way that honors God - the God called Jehovah, El Shaddai, Abba, Elohim - the One who knows exactly what is happening even when no one will tell me.

“O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.”
[Psalm 139:1]

Light or Dark, Fruit or Rot

Life is not as complicated as people sometimes make it.
Underneath all the drama and hidden motives, there is a simple spiritual reality: light or dark, good or bad, right or wrong.
Each of us is responsible before God for which side we choose with our actions, our words, and our treatment of others.

You may not know the whole story, but you can see fruit.
You can look at how people consistently behave:

  • Do they tell the truth, even when it costs them?
  • Do they apologize and change, or just spin and deflect?
  • Do they make room for your humanity, or punish you for having needs and questions?
“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit… Each tree is recognized by its own fruit.”
[Luke 6:43–44]

When you study fruit, confusion begins to lose its power.
You may still be in the dark about details, but you are no longer in the dark about character.

When Help Does Not Come

One of the most painful realities to name is this: I have asked for help.
I have reached out.
I have tried to say, “Something is wrong. I need support. I need someone to be honest with me.”

And still, doors have stayed shut.
Messages go unanswered.
Opportunities to tell me the truth are passed over.

It is easy in that place to turn all the blame inward - to think, “Maybe I am asking for too much. Maybe I am the problem.”
But there is another possibility: people are making their own choices out of fear, self‑protection, or spiritual blindness.
Their silence is not proof that you are unworthy; it is evidence that they are not ready to stand in the light.

“Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”
[Psalm 27:10]

Leaning on the Only One Who Has Never Left

In a season where human help has been inconsistent at best and absent at worst, I have discovered something unshakable: God has never stopped having my back.
He is the One who listened when no one else would, who saw the tears that never made it into words, who stayed when others stepped away.

Leaning on God in this kind of darkness does not mean pretending everything is fine.
It looks like:

  • Telling Him the truth about your confusion and anger.
  • Admitting that you feel alone and overlooked.
  • Asking Him to hold the pieces when you cannot hold them together yourself.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
[Proverbs 3:5–6]

My understanding may be limited right now, but His care for me is not.
While others keep me in the dark, He continues to be my quiet, steady light.

Midweek Mirror Practice: A Compassionate Check‑In

Use today as a gentle pause to sit with God and with yourself.

  1. Name what you do not know.
Take a moment to write down the questions you still carry - the “whys” and “whats” no one will answer.
Offer them to God, not demanding instant clarity, but acknowledging: “Lord, You know what I don’t.”
    [Deuteronomy 29:29]
  2. Bless your own heart.
Instead of shaming yourself for “not understanding,” speak to yourself the way you would to a friend:
“You are doing the best you can with the information you have. You are still choosing love. That matters to God.”
    [1 John 3:18–20]
  3. Recommit to the light.
Pray: “God, even when others hide the truth, let me live in the light. Let me be honest, kind, and courageous. Help my life bear fruit that reflects You.”
    [Ephesians 5:8–10]
  4. Release what is not yours to carry.
You are responsible for your own integrity, not for forcing others into honesty.
Ask God to gently remove the weight of trying to control what you cannot change.
    [1 Peter 5:7]

Midweek Mirror Prayer

God of many names,
Light in my darkness,
You see all that I cannot see.

You know the conversations I am left out of,
the truths that are being withheld,
the ways I have asked for help
and been ignored.

Thank You for knowing my heart
even when others question it.
Thank You that You have always had my back,
even when no one else showed up.

Teach me to keep choosing light
in a world that prefers shadows.
Help me study fruit without growing bitter,
and live in a way that inspires others
to seek You for themselves.

Hold me when I feel alone,
steady me when I feel confused,
and remind me that I am never truly in the dark
because Your presence is my lamp
and Your love is my home.

Amen.

And here is the Midweek Mirror whisper to carry into the rest of your week:

“You may feel in the dark,
but you are not in the wrong.
Stay in the light with Me,
and I will show you what you need to see
in the right time.”

With love and sacred rhythm,

“Listen To Your Heart” by Roxette becomes a fitting soundtrack for a season where outside voices are confusing, silent, or dishonest, but God is gently training you to trust the witness of His Spirit within. The song’s plea to listen beyond the noise mirrors this Midweek Mirror invitation: when people keep you in the dark, return to the quiet place where God speaks truth to your heart and reminds you who you are.

Your Journey Starts Here

Many have asked during my TikTok Lives how to begin their personal or spiritual journey. So far, I've explored and mapped the first three stages for those seeking alignment - the awakening, the journey inward, and the path forward.

These stages have brought profound clarity, and I'm grateful to share what I've discovered along the way.

There are still a few details unfolding, but trust that everything is aligning in its own time - and you'll be the first to know when it's ready.

Remember, this is love being transmuted into art; growth takes time, and you can't rush an actual journey, beautiful souls. In due time, all the right energy falls into place. Just have faith. Hold the vision.
