The Sacred Exhale
There’s something you’ve been carrying for too long. The Sacred Exhale is your invitation to release what no longer serves you and make space for what’s meant to grow.

Releasing What No Longer Serves You
The Inhale - Naming the Weight
There’s something you’ve been carrying for far too long. You can feel it - in your body, in your mind, in the way your spirit exhales only halfway. That weight is your invitation to take what I call the sacred exhale - a conscious, intentional release of what no longer serves you, so you can make space for what will.
In recovery meetings and from trusted mentors, I kept hearing the same phrase: “People, places, and things will steer the direction of your life.” For years, I thought it was just a cliché. But time, and a few hard lessons - taught me its truth.
Indiana is my roots, the soil that shaped me. But it was also where I repeated decisions that kept me in scarcity thinking. Our surroundings - the people we spend time with, the places we dwell, the things we allow into our days - form invisible habits. Those habits either fill your faith… or quietly drain it away.
The Hold - Sitting in the Truth
It took years to see clearly that I was stuck in a negative loop, holding emotions and patterns that no longer served me. Changing your environment isn’t just about geography - it’s about resetting the three pillars of your life: people, places, and things.
In those years, my body felt heavy, my shoulders like stone. Sleep didn’t rest me. My mind was restless, my heart numb, and doubt had a permanent seat at my table. It was like living in a room with no open windows - the air still, the light dim, the same four walls whispering the same old story.
Staying in that loop stole my happiness and robbed me of the joy I was destined for. The longer you hold onto what’s weighing you down, the more it becomes part of your identity - until you forget what it feels like to breathe without it.
The Exhale - The Release & Invitation
When I finally released what no longer served me, it wasn’t just leaving a place - it was leaving the patterns that place had trained into me. It was a full reset of my body, mind, and spirit. The air felt different. My chest felt lighter. My faith felt fuller.
You can experience your own sacred exhale right now.
Pause.
Breathe in deeply, filling your lungs with the life you want to live.
Hold that breath, feeling the weight of what’s ready to leave.
And now, exhale slowly - imagining every last thread of what no longer serves you leaving with your breath.
Every Friday, we exhale together here. Let this be the week you finally set it down, and feel the space it leaves behind.
Your Sacred Exhale Practice
- Identify one thing, thought, or pattern that no longer serves you.
- Notice how it feels in your body - heaviness, tension, restlessness.
- Inhale deeply, imagining light and possibility filling you.
- Hold for a moment, acknowledging its presence without judgment.
- Exhale slowly, releasing it fully into the air around you.
