Speaking Your Truth: An Act of Spiritual Power

To speak your truth is to honor God's spark within you. It is the voice of your soul breaking through the noise of fear, habit, and social expectation. When you share your truth - your real experience, heart, and wisdom - you become more present, more rooted in the reality of your journey.

Speaking your truth brings clarity, allows revelation, and shifts you from spiritual stagnation into movement, healing, and meaningful connection. As Scripture reminds us:

"The truth will set you free" (John 8:32)

As I explored in Speak Your Truth Even When Your Voice Shakes, the act of speaking authentically - even when trembling - is one of the most powerful spiritual practices available to us.

Why Others Withhold Truth

Yet, not everyone will return your honesty in kind. People have many motivations for withholding the truth:

• Fear of judgment, punishment, or rejection
• Wanting to protect themselves or maintain peace, even at the cost of authenticity
• Desire for acceptance, self-esteem, or simply out of old habit
• Loyalty to someone, concern for others, or belief that revealing the truth would cause harm
• To create a surprise: Sometimes, people withhold truth not to deceive but to make someone happy. These secrets, such as hiding a birthday party or planning a special gesture, are rooted in love and the desire to delight

Truth - no matter how loving - is sometimes met by resistance, silence, avoidance, or defensiveness. This is not a reflection of your worth, but of their journey, wounds, and choices.

Sometimes, as I shared in The Frequency of Faith: When Silence Speaks Louder, the absence of words carries its own profound message about where others stand spiritually.

Strengthening Your Discernment

Here is your challenge: strengthen your discernment without becoming indifferent, cynical, or guarded.

Discernment - rooted in prayer, scriptural wisdom, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit - helps you recognize the character, motivations, and spiritual frequency of those around you.

"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." (Proverbs 4:7)

Speak your truth with grace and conviction, while remaining wise about whom you share it with and when you release it.

"Speaking the truth in love." (Ephesians 4:15)

Discernment is not judgment; it is spiritual clarity. It invites you to guard your energy, trust your intuition, and honor sacred boundaries while staying open-hearted and compassionate.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Operating at this higher frequency - one that honors both truth and wisdom - is what I call living in divine frequency. When we align with this sacred vibration, we naturally attract those who resonate with authenticity and gently release those who don't.

Practical Steps for Truthful Living

• Begin each morning asking: "What truth needs my voice today?"

• Pause, pray, and breathe before speaking; let your words be shaped by love, clarity, and conviction

"Be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." (James 1:19)

• Accept that your truth is your responsibility - how others respond is theirs

• Ask God for discernment in all relationships, that you might nourish those who honor truth and gracefully release those who do not

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." (James 1:5)

Sometimes, truth-telling also means releasing what once held you - old relationships, patterns, or beliefs that no longer serve your highest good.

Your voice is a vessel. Your truth is an offering.

Speak boldly, knowing that honesty is a mirror for the soul and a light for those seeking their own path.

"He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart." (Psalm 15:2)

When others withhold truth, do not lose heart; instead, deepen your discernment and let integrity be your guide.

"Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." (Matthew 10:16)
