Truth-Telling Tuesday: The Lie I Told Myself About Being "Lazy"
A gentle sunrise, a single feather, and open water set the scene for Truth Telling Tuesday - where spiritual reflection meets honest beginnings. Tune into real stories and divine frequency at EugeniasThoughts.com.
We live in a world that worships speed. If you aren't launching, pivoting, or posting at light speed, the world tells you you're falling behind. But today, we are telling the truth: Moving at God’s pace often looks like "laziness" to the world. And the boldest thing you can do is refuse to rush.
Opening Whisper Pause here. Quiet the noise of the "hustle culture" screaming in your ear. Take a breath. If you have ever felt shame because you needed a moment to think while everyone else was already running, this whisper is for you.
Today, we are breaking an agreement with the spirit of haste. We are trading the anxiety of "keeping up" for the peace of "keeping aligned."
Beautiful Souls,
Let’s tell the truth today.
For years, I carried a secret shame. I would sit in meetings, watching people throw ideas against the wall, launch new initiatives overnight, and pivot with exciting speed. And I would sit there, quiet. Asking questions. Needing more time.
The world called them "go-getters." The voice in my head called me "lazy."
I convinced myself that my need to pause, to dig deep, and to understand the "why" before the "how" was a spiritual defect. I looked at the people running fast and thought, “If I had more faith, I would jump like they do.”
I was wrong.
The Revelation: It Wasn’t Fear, It Was Function
Yesterday, on Monday Morning Grace, I shared my Kolbe assessment results. I shared that I am a Fact Finder: 8 (I need information) and a Quick Start: 1 (I don't jump blindly).
For a long time, I looked at that "1" in Quick Start and saw a failure. I thought it meant I lacked courage.
But here is the truth I finally uncovered: Hesitation is not always fear. Sometimes, hesitation is the Holy Spirit saying, "Wait. Gather. Prepare."
I wasn't stalling because I was scared. I was pausing because I was stewarding.
The Battle: Speed vs. Stewardship
The enemy loves to make us rush. Why? Because when we rush, we make mistakes. When we rush, we burn out. When we rush, we strive in our own strength rather than resting in God's wisdom.
Society tells us that "bold faith" looks like leaping off a cliff without looking. But Scripture tells a different story.
- Noah didn't build the ark in a weekend.
- Jesus waited 30 years to start a 3-year ministry.
- God is rarely in a rush.
The lie of "lazy" is designed to make you abandon your post. As a Fact Finder, my post is the foundation. My job is to ensure the ground is solid before we build the castle. That isn't laziness; that is structural integrity.
If I let the world shame me into moving faster than my design, I stop being a steward, and I start being a saboteur.
The Hardest Truth
The hardest truth about leadership is this: It takes zero courage to run with the crowd.
When everyone is screaming "GO," and the pressure is mounting, and the adrenaline is pumping - it is easy to just run.
Do you know what takes massive, shaking, terrified boldness? Standing still.
It takes wild courage to be the one person in the room who says, "No. Not yet. We need to wait on the Lord for this one."
A New Definition of Boldness
So today, on Truth-Telling Tuesday, I am redefining what it means to be bold.
- Boldness isn't how fast you move; it's how firmly you stand.
- Boldness isn't manic activity; it's obedient stillness.
- Boldness is looking at a world addicted to speed and choosing to walk at the pace of peace.
Scripture for the Slow Walkers
"So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: 'See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic (or 'will not be in haste').'" - Isaiah 28:16
If you are relying on the Cornerstone, you do not have to hustle. The Foundation holds you.
Truth-Telling Prayer
"Lord, I break the agreement I have made with the lie of laziness. Forgive me for calling Your design 'weakness.' I thank You that You made me to pause, to think, and to test the spirits. Give me the holy boldness to be the slowest person in the room if that is what obedience requires. I will not run ahead of Your presence. I will walk. Amen."
Closing Whisper Beautiful soul, do not let them rush you. Your slowness is a sanctuary. Your questions are a shield. Your pause is a prayer.
Be bold enough to wait. It is so worth it.
With love and truth,
Eugene 💘
In His teachings about the end times, Jesus repeatedly commands, “stay awake,” “be on guard,” and “be ready,” so that His followers are not caught off guard when He returns (see Matthew 24–25; Mark 13)
I don’t believe Jesus ever called us to grind ourselves into exhaustion or wear sleeplessness as a badge of honor. Even He withdrew to rest and renew. So, dearest beautiful souls, give yourself permission to rest - body, mind, and spirit.
Let’s rise in Love, united - not split by the world’s boundaries of left or right, black or white. Our greatest calling is to lean into what is true and good, standing together in Love against anything that divides or destroys.
Remember, this isn’t about sides - it’s about choosing good over evil, light over darkness, Love over fear. Collective focus. Collective faith. Collective Love.
Jesus tells His followers they will be hated and persecuted but must endure to the end, promising salvation to those who keep going in faith (see Matthew 10:22 and parallels).
🎧 Frequency Feature: I Can Only Imagine
"'I Can Only Imagine' by MercyMe resonates deeply with our daily reflections at EugeniasThoughts.com, inviting us to pause and wonder about the beauty of God's presence and grace. Just as our blog encourages readers to imagine the fullness of divine love and possibility, this song inspires us to walk boldly, dream freely, and let faith lead our actions - aligning every moment with Heaven’s frequency."
Every word I speak is a weapon of light - sharpened in stillness and forged with intention.
If darkness seeks to challenge that light, let it come. I have walked through fiercer fires and emerged burning brighter.
My peace is non-negotiable - it is my baseline, the ground I am willing to defend with my life. And truly, it is.
I am here to see this journey through to the end. My prayer is that each of you takes even the smallest step in the right direction today and commits to doing so, day after day.
Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Rise in love, beautiful souls.
