Midweek Mirror: I Forgive the Version of Me Who Did Not Know Yet

Forgive the version of you who did not know yet. This Midweek Mirror invites you to turn hindsight into compassion, awaken to truth, and use what you have learned to create more healing, courage, and hope.

Midweek Mirror: I Forgive the Version of Me Who Did Not Know Yet
A woman stands on a mountain ridge beneath an aurora of glowing frequency waves, holding a compass as her younger self appears gently behind her. The rising sun, open journal, white flower, and distant path symbolize self-forgiveness, awakening, and using hard-won wisdom to move forward.

Beautiful souls,

before you judge the version of yourself who stayed too long, hoped too hard, trusted deeply, or did not see what you can see now, let them sit beside you for a moment.

Do not rush to call them foolish.

Do not make their tenderness evidence against them.

They were doing the best they could with the awareness, tools, support, and language they had at the time. They were trying to love. Trying to belong. Trying to make sense of a life that may not have made sense yet.

And today, we are going to meet that version of ourselves with truth, compassion, and a promise:

I will not abandon you for not knowing sooner.

The Mirror Is Not a Weapon

There is a difference between reflection and self-punishment.

Reflection says, “What did this teach me?”

Shame says, “How could I have let this happen?”

Reflection says, “What do I understand now?”

Shame says, “I should have known.”

But beautiful souls, hindsight can be a cruel storyteller when we let it speak without grace. It shows us the patterns after we have lived through them. It connects the dots after our hearts have already carried the weight of the confusion.

The version of you who did not know yet was not trying to betray you.

They may have been trying to survive.

They may have been holding on to hope because hope was all they had. They may have believed the best because believing in goodness was part of their heart. They may have waited for honesty because that is what they would have offered someone else.

Do not punish yourself for having a heart that wanted to believe.

Lamentations 3:40 NIV invites us to examine and test our ways, then return to the Lord. Notice that reflection is meant to lead us back to God. It is not meant to trap us in a courtroom against ourselves.

I Forgive the Version of Me Who Did Not Know Yet

I forgive the version of me who did not recognize every red flag right away.

I forgive the version of me who thought love, patience, and honesty would always be returned with love, patience, and honesty.

I forgive the version of me who stayed in a conversation too long trying to find clarity.

I forgive the version of me who needed time to understand the difference between familiar and safe.

I forgive the version of me who did not know that a boundary could be an act of love toward myself.

I do not have to deny what I have learned.

I do not have to pretend the past did not affect me.

But I also do not have to keep speaking to my former self like he/she was the enemy.

He/She got me here - and you always stay with who brings you to the dance - wise words from Legend Mike Tyson.

And now that I know more, I get to lead us differently.

Psalm 139:23-24 NIV gives us a gentler way to look inward: “Search me, God, and know my heart.” This is not a prayer of self-condemnation. It is a prayer of trust. It says, God, show me what is true, heal what needs healing, and lead me forward.

Knowing Is an Invitation

There is a sacred moment when you wake up.

You see more clearly. You recognize a pattern. You understand yourself in a way you did not before. You realize that the life you have lived has taught you something real.

And when you wake up and know, I want to encourage you to use that knowledge to push humanity forward.

Do not use it only to replay the pain.

Use it to become more compassionate.

Use it to create safer rooms.

Use it to tell the truth with love.

Use it to protect people who do not yet have the words for what they are experiencing.

Use it to build something better than what you survived.

There is a difference between knowledge that makes us cynical and wisdom that makes us responsible.

Wisdom asks, Now that I know, how can I become a clearer light? How can I make the path gentler for someone behind me? How can I use what I have learned without becoming consumed by what hurt me?

Jesus said that those who believe in Him would do the works He had been doing and even greater works, because He was going to the Father. John 14:12 NIV That is a powerful invitation to live with faith, courage, service, and a willingness to participate in healing work that reaches beyond ourselves.

For me, Scripture is not merely a collection of old stories. It is a living roadmap that repeatedly calls us back to truth, love, discernment, courage, humility, and deeper connection with God. People may use different language for the sacred, but this is the language that keeps bringing me home: God is near, God sees, God heals, and God can still use every honest part of our story.

The Work Is Still Being Done

You are not behind because you are still learning.

You are not disqualified because you had to unlearn survival.

You are not broken because awakening took time.

God is not finished with you.

Philippians 1:6 NIV reminds us that the One who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion. You are a work in progress, yes. But you are also evidence that progress is possible.

The version of you who did not know yet deserves compassion.

The version of you who knows now deserves responsibility.

And the version of you who is still becoming deserves hope.

Frequency Feature: “North Wind Calls” - Icelandian Trumpets & Sword of Vikings

Today’s frequency feature is “North Wind Calls” by Icelandian Trumpets and Sword of Vikings. Its cinematic, warrior-like energy feels like a call to remember who you are when the fog lifts, the past makes more sense, and you realize you are still standing.

For this Midweek Mirror, let these trumpets become a sound of awakening. Not an invitation to fight the version of yourself who did not know yet, but a call to honor them. They carried you through the cold, the uncertainty, the unanswered questions, and the chapters that demanded more strength than you knew you had.

There is something sacred about realizing that the person you once judged for staying, hoping, trusting, or waiting was not weak. They were learning. They were gathering wisdom. They were walking through the wilderness before they had language for the map.

Now that you know more, let that knowing become a call forward.

Use what you have learned to speak more truth. Create safer rooms. Protect your peace. Build what you once needed. Let your awakening make you more compassionate, more courageous, and more committed to helping humanity move toward healing.

You do not have to become hard to become strong.

You do not have to erase your past self to step into your future self.

Let the north wind call you back to your own authority, your own faith, and the good work God is still doing in you.

Midweek Mirror Practice

Take a few quiet minutes today. Place a hand over your heart, breathe slowly, and write a short note beginning with these words:

Dear me who did not know yet,
I forgive you for...
I understand now that...
I am choosing differently by...
And I will use what I have learned to...

Let the final line be simple and personal.

Maybe you will use what you learned to create a boundary.

Maybe you will tell the truth.

Maybe you will rest.

Maybe you will take one small, courageous step toward the life that feels more aligned.

Maybe you will simply be gentler with yourself today.

All of it counts.

Beautiful souls, you are not here to stay ashamed of who you were before you knew what you know now.

Forgive that version of yourself. Thank them for carrying you this far. Then take the wisdom they gave you and use it to make your own life, your community, and the world around you a little more honest, a little safer, and a little more whole.

EugeniasThoughts: At EugeniasThoughts.com, we believe awakening is not about becoming ashamed of who you were before you knew better. It is about meeting that version of yourself with grace, carrying the wisdom forward, and using what you have learned to create more truth, safety, and healing in the world.

Your story is still becoming a roadmap. Let it lead you home to God, to yourself, and to the good you are here to help build.

Every word is a whisper of intention, carved in stillness and light.
