The Midweek Mirror: What Am I Making Space For Now?
Every boundary creates space. This Midweek Mirror reflection asks what I am making room for now: old pain and unanswered questions, or peace, purpose, healthy love, and the new life God is building through intentional daily choices.
I do not have to keep giving yesterday’s pain space in the life God is asking me to build today.
Beautiful Souls,
Midweek is a good time for me to pause and look in the mirror.
Not to criticize myself.
Not to replay every conversation.
Not to chase clarity from people who have already shown me what they are willing or unwilling to give.
But to ask myself a more honest question:
What am I making space for now?
Every boundary creates space.
Every time I choose not to respond from pain, I create space.
Every time I stop explaining myself to someone committed to misunderstanding me, I create space.
Every time I release the need for an answer that may never come, I create space.
The question is what I will do with it.
Will I fill it with overthinking?
Will I fill it with old stories, old patterns, and the pressure to figure out why certain people could not meet me with love, honesty, or respect?
Or will I fill it with the life God is calling me to build?
I am learning that healing is not only about letting go of what hurt me.
It is also about becoming intentional about what comes next.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
- Isaiah 43:18–19biblegateway
I do not read this as permission to pretend the past did not happen.
What happened mattered.
What I learned mattered.
The love I gave mattered.
The ways I had to protect myself mattered.
But I cannot allow yesterday’s pain to take up every room in my present life.
God is doing a new thing, and I want to be present enough to recognize it.
I want to make space for a clearer mind.
I want to make space for a stronger body.
I want to make space for a more grounded spirit.
I want to make space for conversations that feel honest, mutual, and safe.
I want to make space for people who do not require me to abandon myself in order to belong.
I want to make space for work that lets me connect with people, help people, and contribute something good to the world.
I want to make space for the version of me that wakes up each day committed to sharpening my mind, body, and soul.
That version of me deserves room to breathe.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
- Proverbs 4:23 2103
Guarding my heart does not mean closing it.
It does not mean becoming bitter, cold, or unavailable to love.
It means becoming more discerning about what I allow to live inside of me.
Not every thought deserves to stay.
Not every memory deserves to lead.
Not every person deserves unlimited access.
Not every unanswered question deserves another hour of my energy.
I can honor the truth of my experience without living inside of it forever.
I can miss what I hoped something would be and still choose what is healthy for me now.
I can love people from a distance and still make room for peace.
I can forgive without reopening every door.
I can release what I cannot change and focus on what I can build.
This is where the mirror becomes meaningful.
When I look at myself, I want to see someone who kept going.
Someone who did not let disappointment become their identity.
Someone who chose faith when answers were limited.
Someone who continued to grow, even when growth required grieving the version of life they once imagined.
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable... think about such things.”
- Philippians 4:8biblegateway
Today, I am making space for what is true.
I am making space for peace that does not need permission from anyone else.
I am making space for healthy love.
I am making space for discipline, purpose, meaningful connection, and God’s timing.
I am making space for dreams that do not require me to shrink in order to be accepted.
And I am making space for myself.
Not the version of me that was trying to survive what I could not understand.
The version of me who is healing, strengthening, and moving forward with intention.
Mirror Moment
Take a quiet moment today and ask yourself:
What am I still giving space to that no longer belongs in the life I am building?
Then ask:
What would change if I gave that space back to my healing, my peace, and the future God is preparing for me?
I release what no longer belongs in my inner world. I make room for peace, purpose, reciprocal love, and the new thing God is growing in me.

🎵 American Love by Jake Owen
Tomorrow’s Frequency Feature is American Love by Jake Owen.
For this Midweek Mirror, American Love is a reminder that love should feel like a place where I can breathe.
Not a place where I have to guess.
Not a place where I have to make myself smaller.
Not a place where I have to earn basic honesty, respect, or care.
Real love makes room for people to be fully themselves. It encourages growth. It supports healing. It does not ask me to abandon my values, my peace, or the future God is calling me toward.
As I reflect on what I am making space for now, I am choosing to make room for love that is reciprocal.
I am making room for conversations that are honest.
I am making room for people who can celebrate what is good in me without competing with it.
I am making room for connection that feels safe, grounded, and genuine.
And I am making room for the kind of love that does not require me to betray myself in order to keep it.
This album carries an open-road tripping kind of feeling, which fits this season of remembering that my life is still moving forward. I may have loved people who were not able to meet me where I was, but that does not mean I have to stop believing in healthy love.
It means I get clearer about what love looks like.
Love is consistency.
Love is respect.
Love is honesty.
Love is someone who wants to see me become more of who God created me to be.
So press play today and let this be a reminder:
I am not making space for confusion disguised as connection.
I am making space for peace.
I am making space for purpose.
I am making space for love that feels like home.
Hold the frequency, beautiful soul. The love meant for you will not require you to lose yourself to keep it.
A Note From Eugenia
Beautiful soul,
There is a time to stop asking why something happened and begin asking what I want to make space for now.
I know how easy it is to keep revisiting the past.
To replay the conversations.
To wonder if I should have said something differently.
To hope that someone will finally offer the honesty, accountability, or understanding that would make it all make sense.
But I am learning that I do not have to keep giving my energy to what refuses to meet me in truth.
I can honor what hurt me without allowing it to occupy every room in my heart.
I can remember what I learned without living inside of the memory.
I can protect my peace without becoming closed off to love.
Every boundary I set creates space.
Every time I choose not to react, I create space.
Every time I stop explaining myself to someone committed to misunderstanding me, I create space.
Every time I return to God instead of returning to an old wound, I create space.
And I am becoming more intentional about what I allow into that space.
I am making room for a clearer mind.
I am making room for a stronger body.
I am making room for a grounded spirit.
I am making room for people who can meet me with honesty, encouragement, and mutual care.
I am making room for purpose.
I am making room for peace.
I am making room for the life God is building in me, even if I cannot fully see it yet.
You do not have to carry everything that happened into the life you are trying to create.
You are allowed to release what no longer fits.
You are allowed to make room for what is healthy.
You are allowed to choose yourself without guilt.
So today, take a moment and ask:
What am I still giving space to that no longer belongs in the life I am building?
Then breathe.
Release it gently.
And make room for what is meant to grow.
With love,
Daniel Eugene “Eugenia” Timmons
